The Pastoral Team

Who are we?

The Pastoral Team at Minworth Junior and Infant School is Mrs Corpe (Pastoral Lead), Mrs Deane (Learning Mentor) and Mrs Miller (Learning Mentor). We look after the social and emotional needs of many of our children and families and all have up to date Designated Safeguarding Lead training. Mrs Miller and Mrs Deane are non-class based and work closely with children in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.

What do we offer?

We provide a wide variety of support for our children; self-esteem, nurture groups, friendship builders, bereavement programmes, anger management courses, intensive behaviour support through pre-tutoring and 1:1 support in class. We pride ourselves in knowing our children and tailoring their support individually.

We work closely with the Our Place mentoring scheme, with a number of children and parents benefitting from their trained mentors.

Our families are very important to us! We can provide support or signpost you to another agency for a range of different issues; emotional support, parenting support, housing and financial help.

Minworth Stay and Play is every Thursday afternoon 1:45pm – 3pm in the school hall, which we run with our wonderful parent helpers and with the support of Newhall Children’s Centre.

Throughout the year, we offer regular Infant Massage and Promoting Happier Parenting courses for our families.
